Natalie Wagner was a teacher for many years. She was my 6th grade teacher at the Ramsay school. She instilled in me a love of performance, drama and public speaking. Each of us were given a book of memories that she created when our school year was over. In the book were pictures of the performances we did along with a brief narration from her. It was important she said that each of us have a moment in the spotlight. For some of us it was the only moment we would ever have. She created parts for us, made our costumes and often wrote the plays. She paid for these things herself. She understood how important self esteem was way before educated minds determined it was so.
She died a few years ago. She lived to be 100 years old. Our little town was a far better place to grow up because she was there. Well done, Miss Wagner, well done. |
